Trying new things

We have been reading and writing lots of fantastic poetry about food. We tried a new food, dried cranberries. Some people loved them, some didn't but everyone agreed they were strange and wrinkly! We used our five senses to think of describing words for the cranberries and then we used them to write our poems. We also used similes in our work, can you spot them?

Dried Cranberry
It looks slimy and wrinkly.
It feels oily and bumpy.
It smells sweet and sour.
It looks wrinkly like old people.

Dried Cranberry
It looks tiny and wrinkly.
It feels squishy and bumpy.
It smells juicy and sweet.
It tastes silky and juicy.
It looks like a red scribble.
