Celebrating Jasmine

This week our assembly award went to Jasmine Zepter. Jasmine has been working really hard, using her initiative, asking questions and thinking carefully in all areas of her work. Well done Jasmine!

Farewell Adam

On Thursday we had to say farewell to our friend and classmate Adam. We had a lovely shared lunch and everyone signed a photo book that Miss B made for Adam to take home to Malaysia. We all have Adam's email and home address in Malaysia so we are going to keep in touch with him. Miss B said we could write some letters to him at school and post them to Malaysia. Adam is going to keep reading our blog with his family so he can keep up with what we are doing. Thanks everyone for making Adam's farewell lunch so special.

Awesome Olivia

On Friday Olivia won our assembly award. She has been working hard to extend the ideas in her writing, adding interesting detail. Olivia has made a big effort to learn to check her work to make sure it makes sense and she has made a great job of fixing her spelling herself. Great independent work Olivia!

Keep Dunedin Beautiful

On Monday we had a special treat for the first day of term, the lovely actors from Keep Dunedin Beautiful performed at our school. They performed a play for us where they travelled back in time to fix up the pollution mess they had made as children that had ruined their favourite spot. It had great messages about reducing, reusing and recycling but was funny too. We loved how they travelled back in time by sniffing Danny's stinky shoe.

Super star Students

In the last weeks of term we had two super stars, as we had a special award to give out for the International Science Festival that was held in Dunedin, as well as our assembly award.
Kane won our assembly award for his amazing, creative magic hat! We are hoping to hang our gorgeous creations from the rafters when we move back into our beautiful new classroom in the next few weeks. Well Done Kane!
Lucy won a special science award for her very clever thinking when we were working on chemical reactions with Miss Trainor. Lucy is very good at explaining how reactions happen and why she thinks they do. Tino Pai Lucy.

The frog prince

In the last week of term our whole school was lucky enough to go and see an amazing play at the Fortune Theatre called "The Frog Prince". It was about a princess who lost her golden rugby ball in a frog's pond and then she tricked him into getting it back for her. The show was full of amazing characters, one man played about 4 different parts! We loved when Mrs S had to get up on the stage and dance. Our favourite part was when the Princess and her enemy Petunia Poopersnot were fighting and wrestling.

PJ Party

We all had great fun on the last morning of the term at school. We had a pyjama party and watched a movie. We were also lucky enough to get a big box of apples donated by the Rotary Club so we had a healthy snack too! We also had some lovely treats from Adam's Mum for his birthday. What a great way to end the term.
