Super Sensational Spellers

Wow what a lot of super spellers we have this week. Tino pai to mahi children you must have worked hard to learn your words. Ka rawe!

Congratulations Cameron - Superstar!

Cameron has worked really hard in all areas of his school work, making a great start back after the holidays. He has been working especially well in writing and in managing himself. Well done Cameron you are this weeks Superstar Student!

Froglet

Today Miss B made a sad discovery in Froglet and Show off's tank. The frogs have not been very active because it is getting cold and they stop moving to conserve their energy, a bit like hibernating. Unfortunately when she checked them today she found that Froglet had died. Miss B has buried him in a nice sunny place in the garden at her house.

Monarch Butterflies

Yesterday Miss B put the swan plant outside in the sunshine, the butterflies stayed out there all day drying their wings. In the afternoon she noticed they had suddenly vanished, so she went looking around the garden for them and found them feasting on sunflowers!

Yay, we finally have monarch butterflies! Miss B took the swan plant home for the holidays to keep an eye on it and kept it in her spare room where it is nice and warm. Today she set up the camera and computer to record them, just in case they changed, and went out. When she got home she couldn't believe her eyes, two beautiful new monarch butterflies were hanging from the swan plant! They are now just hanging on the plant letting their wings dry out. Just as well she didn't forget to record it. Hopefully the pictures look great and she will use them to make a movie to show the children what happened.

Kane is a star!

 

Superstar student of the week is Kane! Kane gets our assembly award this week for a huge effort to improve all his school work and his concentration at school. Kane has also been beautifully behaved. Well done Kane we are so proud of you.

Spectacular Spellers

Rhythm Interactive

 
 












Today NEVNS was lucky enough to attend an amazing interactive drumming performance at the Opoho Church with the fabulous Julian and Anton. We were amazed to find out when we got there that all the children were going to be part of the performance, they all had a drum to play. Anton led the children by demonstrating patterns on his drum for them to follow. It was so much fun, but very noisy. By the end of the show we all had sore, pink hands.

Shay is a superstar

 











Our assembly award on Friday went to Shay. Shay has been making a huge effort to concentrate on his work and to give his best effort in everything he does. Well done Shay, you are well on your way to achieving your goals.
