This week our superstar is Jordan. Jordan has been working very hard in his writing to include lots of interesting detail to make his story more enjoyable to read. Well Done Jordan!

Bethunes Gully and the Gardens
Yesterday the senior school went to Bethunes Gully and the Gardens to look at other parts of Lindsay Creek. These parts of Lindsay Creek are not as dirty as the part at Chingford Park. We think it could be dirtier because people put more rubbish in there at Chingford Park, there are more people around. We think we could help by cleaning it up and making signs to tell people to put their rubbish in the bin.

Lindsay Creek
Yesterday the senior school walked to Chingford Park to study plants and animals at Lindsay Creek. This picture is of a freshwater crayfish that Jamie caught in his sieve. We knew it was a girl because it had eggs under its tail.

Star Student
I have been so impressed this week with how all of the children are working and cooperating. I was especially pleased with the way that Jasmine settled to work so quickly and worked hard to complete and present her work neatly. She also has fantastic manners and is always well behaved. Well done Jasmine and congratulations for getting our assembly award this week.

Welcome!
Kia ora everyone and welcome to the new school year. We have a lovely group of very enthusiastic children in Room 2 this year and they have all had a very good first day back. We are learning about the things that make us unique and today we talked about the places we were born, as you can see we were not all born in Dunedin but we were born in places all over NZ and the world that makes us a very interesting and dynamic group.
